The Christmas season is right around the corner! What better way to count down to this festive season than with a chocolate advent calendar from your favourite praline brand? At The Belgian Chocolate House, we have 4 brands offering a delicious advent calendar to make this year’s countdown to Christmas an unforgettable one.
Godiva Christmas advent calendar
Godiva’s advent calendar is a classic one, with assorted milk chocolates, dark chocolates, and white chocolates. The calendar also includes 9 pieces in fun, seasonal shapes — jolly Santa, wintry Penguin, and festive Snowman. It also includes 15 individually wrapped milk chocolate carrés in seasonal wrapper.
Corné Port-Royal Christmas advent calendar
If you are a Corné Port-Royal fan, you’ll be happy to hear they also offer a tasty advent calendar! Their selection consists of twenty-four scrumptious assorted chocolates that are hidden behind little doors. A delicious way to make the wait more enjoyable!
Leonidas advent calendar
Leonidas also offers a savory and original advent calendar, filled with 24 pralines (alcohol-free). The calendar offers the best Leonidas has to offer: 100% pure cocoa butter, 100% fresh and 100% made in Belgium! You’ll be sad once the last praline has been tasted and this fun-filled calendar has served its last treat – unless there are more chocolates under your Christmas tree of course!
Neuhaus Chocolate Winter Wonderland pop-up advent calendar
Neuhaus delights us with a Chocolate Winter Wonderland pop-up advent calendar. In this calendar, the magic of Brussels awaits you, one chocolate at a time. Their pop-up advent calendar is inspired by the birthplace of the praline, and is filled with 25 of their most timeless pralines. It gets more beautiful with each day closer to Christmas: the calendar gets more magical, as the Christmas market on the Grand Place in Brussels slowly appears with every chocolate you eat.
Are you in the mood for one of these flavor-journeys? Then we’ve got great news for you: you can win a Neuhaus or a Corné Port-Royal advent calendar at The Belgian Chocolate House, from 5/11/2018 until 21/11/2018! The competition can be found on our website.
Can’t wait? Then we welcome you in our stores where you can purchase one (or one of each!) for yourself or as a gift for a friend or loved one.
We wish you a flavourful holiday season!
Food pairing is based on the principle that flavours enhance or complement each other if they have common components. Chocolate and coffee are a perfect example of a match that is made in heaven. With the Coffee & Pralines Collection, Neuhaus offers a combination of both pralines and coffee for the perfect break. They selected beans from Colombia and Brazil, two world leaders in the cocoa sector and coffee production. Both the cocoa and coffee beans come from the same region to guarantee a pure and authentic flavour.
Coffee ritual 2.0
The three pralines are eaten one after the other in a specific order from delicate to intense together with a drink of coffee from the same region. To bring out the full depth of the flavours, start with a sip of coffee to pick up the flavour. Then let the first praline slowly melt on the tongue and enjoy the pleasure as the coating melts away followed by the revelation of the filling. Finish the ritual with a sip of coffee so that the flavours blend together in the mouth. Repeat the ritual for the second and third praline. Enjoy!
The Coffee & Pralines Collection is available in two versions. The Experience Box contains 36 pralines and two 100-g packets of Brazil and Colombia single origin coffees – enough for 12 delicious coffee and praline rituals. The Origin Box contains 24 pralines which are just right for eight relaxing coffee and praline rituals.
Both boxes are simple and elegant with a luxury finish. They contain a leaflet that provides full details about the production process and the ideal coffee ritual. The collection is available from October 2018 at The Belgian Chocolate House – perfect to enjoy on those colder, windy first days of fall or even better: a luxury gift for chocolate and coffee lovers to offer under the Christmas tree!

During the months of September and October, we have chosen to put the treasures of Belgian expertise, in terms of chocolate and biscuits, in the spotlight.
Neuhaus, which was established in Brussels in 1857, is the oldest Belgian chocolate brand. The chocolate house invented the famous chocolate as well as the ballotin or box in which the chocolates are presented. Its iconic “Caprice” and “Tentation” nougatine chocolates, which are filled with cream and enrobed with chocolate, were created for the 1958 World Expo and continue to make gourmets around the world salivate when they think of them.
Corné Port-Royal is another iconic Brussels chocolate maker. In 1935, shortly after Maurice Corné established his artisan chocolate shop, he created the legendary “Manon sucre”, a combination of whipping cream, nuts and nougatine, enrobed with confectioner’s sugar. An irresistible treat which you really should try!
More recently, Galler has demonstrated considerable dynamism and innovation. The brand was the first to create a 70% cocoa chocolate and is famous for the wide range of chocolate bars it sells, in colorful packaging.
Jules Destrooper, a company that has been in family hands for four generations, is Belgium’s most famous biscuit maker. Its founder, an artisan baker who also owned an exotic spice shop, created the famous almond thins, which became an international success, from 1911 onwards. Since then, Jules Destrooper has been named an official supplier to the Belgian court.
Like Jules Destrooper, Maison Dandoy is a family company, that was established in Brussels in the nineteenth century. The biscuit maker is mainly known for its fabulous speculoos and the unrivalled quality of its products. For over 180 years, this Belgian pastry brand has been an absolute must.
But where can you find all these treats? At The Belgian Chocolate House, of course, where all the gourmets like to shop!
Born in 1938 in Sint-Niklaas, Guy Foubert was a passionate Belgian chocolatier that combined his two greatest passions: his love for chocolate, and his love for his partner. Because when Guy married his lover, Liliane, in 1958, the two immortalized their passion for life’s sweetest pleasures, love and chocolate, by joining their names to one: Chocolaterie Guy-lian. 60 years later, this name is still one of the best known Belgian chocolate brands around the world.
At The Belgian Chocolate House, we are proud to be offering you only the best of the best. So in our Guylian assortment, we present you the Guylian Master’s Selection. Each beautiful gift box collects 36 mini pralines in 12 delectable flavours. With this unique box, you’ll discover adventurous flavours like Coffee Cardemom, Ginger-Lime or Caramel with Pineapple – as well as the original praliné fillings. Fine ingredients like golden berry or zest of lemon decorate each praline and complete the taste sensation.
Guylian’s legendary chocolates can of course be eaten right out of the box, but did you know they are also a great ‘secret ingredient’ in a lot of recipes? You can add Guylian chocolates to cakes and biscuits, for example. A complete list of creative (and delicious!) recipes can be found on their Pinterest page!
